Accounting Analyst

Accounting Analyst is a key member of the Corporate Services Team to provide support in the Financial Reporting and Regulatory Compliance Filing under the supervision of the Executive Director, her/his designate as well as the Board Representative.

The Position – Accounting Analyst

Reporting to the Executive Director, the incumbent will be responsible for the preparation of Financial Reporting for compliance with the Board and Regulatory bodies on a timely basis.

The Role

  • Demonstrates knowledge in the use of accounting software such as SAGE 50 Simply Accounting, the function and application in formulating and updating of the Chart of Accounts in the collecting of data, grouping of similar accounts and preparing financial statements for reporting purposes as a Not- For- Profit Entity.
  • Able to apply cash, accrued accounting concepts as well familiar in the use of journal entries in performing the accounting functions and maintaining the general ledger of accounts.
  • Preparation of Monthly Financial Statements, Annual Budget and Five Year Plan together with the filing of GST returns according to a pre-determined time table and checklist.
  • Updating the Authorization Matrix, signing authority and approval process to ensure proper execution of internal control.
  • Understanding the payroll cycle, payroll data integrity and transmission to ADP thoroughly with accuracy, familiar with payroll costing and benefit accounting.
  • Able to perform bank and children accounts reconciliation, variance analysis independently and accurately.
  • Cash flow management and investment on a timely basis according the direction from the management.
  • Attend Operation Management Team meeting when called upon for explanation and further analytical work.

The Individual Who Will Succeed

  • The incumbent shall have personal skills to work collaboratively and willingly to share his/her accounting/reporting knowledge with others in the Corporate Services Group.
  • The Incumbent shall be flexible and be ready to take on other tasks assigned from time to time by management since our volume of transaction in accounting may fluctuate.
  • The individual should achieve a minimum of 2 years diploma program in accounting major with an accredited college in Canada or equivalent together with 5 years experience in accounting field.
  • Proficiency in the application of accounting software, use of spread sheets for reconciliation, analytics and financial report preparation.
